KMBC is excited to announce its first annual Scholarship Contest. As part of the Spring event, STAND OUT, KMBC will sponsor a scholarship contest on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. This Scholarship Contest will feature vocalists, keyboard instrumentalists, and public speakers. The event will be hosted in the Helen Mathews Luce Chapel and Fine Arts Building on the KMBC campus. In order to participate, please complete the registration form and submit it by Friday, April 12, 2013.
The top contestant in singing, keyboard, and public speaking will be announced at the 7:00 p.m. concert, featuring the KMBC Choir. The winners in each category will be awarded a certificate for a $1000 KMBC Scholarship which is valid through 2015-2016 academic year. During the Friday evening Choir concert, the three scholarship winners will present their selection as part of the evenings events. The following rules apply for each category:
The speaker will prepare and deliver a 3-5 minute extemporaneous speech
The speech should be of an Inspirational, Motivational, and Christian emphasis
The judges will evaluate the speech with a scoring guide
The singer will prepare and sing a 3-5 minute song
The song should be sacred or worship in nature
The singer may use recorded or live accompaniment, providing one’s own accompanist.

The judges will evaluate the selection with a scoring guide
The instrumentalist will prepare and play a hymn or worship song in congregational accompaniment style
The instrumentalist will prepare and play 3-5 minute hymn or worship song arrangement
The judges will evaluate both selections with a scoring guide
Pastors and youth leaders, please bring your youth group, and climb higher with us at this exciting weekend! Students will be housed in KMBC dorms.

Visitors will be hosted in the college dorms. We welcome you to join our college family during this exciting event. Throughout the weekend, KMBC will provide the meals, housing, and all of the activities for FREE! We look forward to seeing you here!“STAND OUT” is an event for High School Sophomores and above. Please wear modest appropriate clothing. No bare midriffs, sleeveless shirts, or shorts please. Attendees are expected to attend all events.

There is a nice selection of restraunts in the Jackson area. These restaurants are no more than 15 minutes away from the KMBC campus. Most of these restraunts are located on the main drag through Jackson which is Highway 15. There are also a few that are located on Main Street by the court house.
