On November 4th and 5th, KMBC was privileged to host our Navigating Cultural Chaos #2 Conference. This powerful event featured three keynote speakers: Rev. Dan McDowell, lead pastor of Millville Avenue Church of the Nazarene; Rev. Jared Henry, president of The Holiness Partnership; and Ben Schettler, co-founder and president of The Center for Truth in Love.
This conference was open to the public, and over 230 people were in attendance. We were blessed to have youth from Mt. Carmel Christian High School and Oakdale Christian Academy join us for the majority of the conference. Friday afternoon, church leaders and other attendees enjoyed breakout sessions while the youth participated in activities led by KMBC students. The evening’s functions featured the 3 Heath Brothers live in concert and a bonfire to follow. The conference concluded on Saturday morning with a Q&A session with the panel of speakers.
The heart of this conference was to help youth and church leaders examine relevant issues in our culture through a Christian worldview. The keynote speakers both encouraged and challenged attendees by exploring topics including gender identity, social justice, and the reliability of the Bible.
KMBC hosts regular events to challenge and inspire youth, parents, and church leaders alike. Our next event, “Immersion,” is April 21-22, 2023. This event will feature Dr. Grady McMurty who will speak on various topics including Creation and The Flood. In addition, our annual KMBC’s Got Talent Scholarship Competition will be held that Friday afternoon. Mark your calendars! We hope to see you there!
