Preparing Homeschool Transcripts
With up to 20% of KMBC students regularly coming from a homeschool background, KMBC wants to help make the transition to highschool to college as easy as possible!* Most colleges require highschool transcripts whether a student went to public school, private school, or homeschool. It is important to keep a record of courses the student has taken throughout highschool as they show the educational foundation the student has.
A sample transcript is available to the right, as well as an editable blank copy, and instructructions. KMBC evaluates homeschool transcripts similarly to transcripts from other schools. They must include all the elements required for a standard transcript. Grades must be included (letter or percentage). School name, address, student name, graduation date (or expected graduation date), and administrator (parent) signature must be included.
Homeschool students interested in KMBC follow the same application process. You will need to take the ACT, SAT or CLT and submit a highschool transcript prepared by a parent or homeschool official.**
You may also be interested in taking CLEP (College Level Examination Program) tests, CLEP tests are a great opportunity to get a jump start on college credit with information you already know.
